The INSTITUTE OF INTEGRATED ELECTRICAL ENGINEERS OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC. (IIEE) has scheduled its 10th Regional Conference on August 27-29, 2009 at the CEBU INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTER (CICC), Mandaue City. The conference will be attended by electrical engineers & practitioners from the chapters of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, Leyte and Samar. The conference will highlight technical sessions to strengthen the roles of the Filipino electrical practitioners amidst recent global challenges and how the profession can help mitigate these effects.
With the theme, “ACHIEVING EXCELLENCE AMIDST GLOBAL CHALLENGES” the three-day conference will undertake the following fields in RENEWABLE ENERGY, NUCLEAR POWER GENERATION, OPEN ACCESS ENERGY TRADING, BLACK-OUT 101, PROTECTION SYSTEMS FOR LARGE SUBSTATIONS, SUBSTATION MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT, RELIABILITY IN INDUSTRIAL POWER SYSTEMS, GEO-THERMAL POWER GENERATION, ENERGY MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES, APPLICATION OF INSULATION COORDINATION IN SUBSTATIONS, ELECTRICAL DESIGN CONCEPTS FOR HIGH-RISE BUILDINGS, APPLICATION OF SOLID STATE CURRENT LIMITERS, EFFICIENT LIGHTING CONCEPTS, POWER TRANSFORMER MAINTENANCE, FAULTS IN SUBSTATIONS, CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION, and HOW TO BECOME A PROFESSIONAL ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. Attending the technical sessions will earn the electrical engineers CPE credit units required for the renewal of PRC licenses which is due for implementation by 2010.
The conference will also be attended by graduating EE students from different colleges & universities in the Visayas. Lined-up for them are the following subjects of interest: SUBSTATIONS & DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS, MOTOR POWER CIRCUITS, GEOTHERMAL POWER PLANT CONFIGURATION IN THE VISAYAS, GEOTHERMAL POWER DISPATCHING & MARSHALLING, NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTINGS and ELECTRICAL CODES & STANDARDS.
Exhibit booths showcasing the latest quality products, tools & equipment in the electrical industry are one of the dynamic features of the conference. For more information, please call: Babie Abad, Tel No. 345-4531 or Fax: 343-6936 or E-Mail: iiee_ncc@yahoo.com
